And the Golden Ticket goes to? The 2016 Amusement Today Golden Ticket awards were held this past weekend at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH. The premier awards ceremony honoring the “Best of the Best” in the amusement industry. This is the 19th year that the awards have been presented. Cedar Point was host to the awards at the Hotel Breakers Convention Center.

In addition to the Golden Ticket recipients, the Publisher’s Pick award recipients were selected as well.
Supplier of the Year: Bollinger & Mabillard (B&M) based out of Monthey, Switzerland. B&M has been successful and dedicated to achieving 100 roller coaster projects featuring many top 10 rides. The company has experienced more than a quarter-century of quality business practices.
Person of the Year: Raffi Kaprelyan of Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. Raffi’s leadership in overseeing the vision and passion for the theme park in success it has today.
Renaissance Award: Ed Hart of Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, KY. Ed was recognized in his dedication for the rebirth of the park and it’s ultimate thriving atmosphere.
Park of the Year: Cedar Point, the roller coaster capital of the world. The park has resulted in continued excellence and for continued transformation of the park into a world class resort destination.
For the first time this year, Amusement Today recognized an individual as the recipient of the AIMS International Safety Award. The award was presented to Harold Hudson. This award recognizes a person or organization who has made an impact or contribution in improving safety in the amusement industry.
The Golden Ticket Awards continue to recognize parks and individuals who demonstrate excellence, leadership, and commitment each year. The 2017 awards will be hosted by Lake Compounce and Quassy Park in Connecticut.
