Busch Gardens Williamsburg has announced that Curse of Darkastle will not reopen for the 2018 operating season. The announcement was made on the park’s official Facebook page. The announcement comes as a surprise to many park guests and enthusiasts of the ride. The park has been using the ride building this past season for Howl-O-Scream and Christmas Town. For the past few seasons the ride has seen a decline in riders and the decision made is tough but will bring new opportunities for the park to use the building for event space. The name of the new event space has been voted on and we will know soon of the new name. The choices that were up for voting included: Gartensburg Castle, NewKastle, and Oktoberfest Palaste. The results of the new event space name will be announced soon.

In other news, Kevin Lembke will take over as Park President beginning Feb 1. He will succeed David Cromwell, who is pursuing an opportunity with a sports franchise. For more information on this story, click here
