Cedar Point, an amusement park in Sandusky, OH, has announced plans for the 2017 season. The park is coming off a wonderful 2016 season with the introduction of Valravn, the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster. In 2017, the park is looking forward to another record breaking debut and expansion. The park is gearing up to debut Cedar Point Shores, which will include many new attractions and amenities.
What will Cedar Point Shores include?
- Point Plummet – a six-story-tall, four-person aqua-drop body slide that will simultaneously send four guests on a nearly vertical free fall when the floor drops out from under them. The four separate 400-foot-long slides will send riders through a series of flat loops and s-curves for an amazing water rush.
- Starboard Surge & Portside Plunge – located on the same structure as Point Plummet, these two, five-story tube slides can accommodate guests riding alone or with a friend and will send them through an enclosed tunnel before shooting them out into the sun through intense drops and turns.
- Lakeslide Landing – a new family splash ground with 12 kid-sized water slides that line the perimeter of a zero-depth-entry pool, giving kids their own mini water thrills while parents can relax under shade structures and enjoy an oversized lounge and sun deck area.
Cedar Point is looking forward to expanding lodging at the park. Breakers Express will be converted into Cedar Point Express Hotel. Hotel Breakers will receive an expansion to include a six story tower that will house an additional 158 guest rooms. Hotel Breakers will have a total of 669 guest rooms when the new expansion opens in summer 2018. Cedar Point Express Hotel is currently undergoing transformation to include new bedding, bathrooms, microwaves, mini fridges, and a new center splash pad at the hotel.
Cedar Point continues to deliver on thrills for the entire family. The transformation of Soak City into Cedar Point Shores will continue to bring in guests from the entire region and world. Hotel Breakers and Cedar Point Express Hotel will deliver on those thrills as a place to unwind after the end of the day at the park.
