Carowinds is currently closed for the season and will reopen for the 2016 season in the spring. Each year, there are many exciting things that happen in the off season from updates on attractions under construction. There are other things to watch such as the current model of Fury 325 that is currently being constructed by Joshua Amos of Bassett, VA.
Joshua began the model a few weeks ago and has been looking forward to seeing what opportunity he can bring forward. The park debuted Fury 325 in 2015 as the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster with top speeds of 95 mph. The model is being made from scratch, and will be different from many other models of different rides.
The current status of the model shows the area footers constructed, station is complete with plaza, and the lift hill going down the drop is complete. The final airtime hills are also completed going into the brake run. The model does not have an estimated completion date although this will continue to be covered until the project is completed.

The model is currently under construction with no confirmed date for completion. There is a lot of work and creativity that goes into constructing something of this magnitude. I look forward to covering the remainder of Joshua’s progress in the coming months, and look forward to seeing the model in person once completed.
