Kings Island is currently closed for the season. The park announced in July that a new roller coaster would be coming to the river town section of the park. Mystic Timbers is a new Great Coasters International (GCI) wooden coaster with many twists and turns as you plummet down a 109 foot first drop. Construction crews are continuing to erect the ride structure in time for a spring 2017 debut. Progress of ride construction is moving along very well as a majority of the structure is complete. Park guests and enthusiasts will be in for a serious thrill .

During the winter time months, crews have been constructing Mystic Timbers for the upcoming 2017 season. When the crews complete the project, they would have used 330,000 board feet of southern yellow pine lumber, 30,000 pounds of nails, 88,000 bolts and washers and 5,500 cubic yards of concrete to pour the foundation. The ride will cover 3,625 feet of track after an initial descent of 109 feet while traveling through 16 airtime hills. A mysterious “What’s in the shed?” has drawn attention. Those details will be revealed when park guests ride in April 2017. You can continue to follow construction of Mystic Timbers on the official Kings Island blog at:
