Dollywood continues to make progress on construction of their latest thrill ride for 2016, “Lightning Rod”. The park is working with Rocky Mountain Construction to build the world’s fastest and first launched wooden coaster. The ride is scheduled to open in spring 2016, and will bring new thrills and an experience to park guests heading to Dollywood.
What is the current construction progress?
Crews are continuing to construct the ride in anticipation for the spring 2016 debut. Most of the track structure is complete, and there are only a few additional things that crews must install before the track is completed.
