SeaWorld San Antonio announced on Sept. 27, 2016 that there would be an exciting new attraction coming to the park. As the 2016 season comes to a close and many guests begin to plan their 2017 visits to the park, there are many anticipating what the park has planned in 2017. SeaWorld San Antonio is happy to officially announce a first of its kind coaster experience. Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster will debut at the park in 2017.
Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster will enable riders to feel what it’s like to race alongside SeaWorld’s animal care team and become heroic as they spring into action on this one of a kind ride. Riders will see what it’s like to take action to animals in distress. “The new coaster promises a ride of a lifetime that’s also unique to SeaWorld’s mission,” said SeaWorld San Antonio Park President Carl Lum “Replicating an adventure limited to only a few trained professionals, Wave Breaker will launch riders into an exhilarating experience similar to going on an animal rescue mission. The coaster is sure to thrill, but also brings awareness to the brave efforts of our animal teams as they join forces with organizations around the world to help ill, injured, orphaned and abandoned animals.”
Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster will feature a unique jet ski-style car design and will debut as the first coaster in North America to engage riders in a straddled seat position. This design will allow riders to navigate a series of banked and serpentine turns along 2600 feet of steel track. The ride will reach a height of 61 feet and will be located directly over water. Riders will feel the speed of high acceleration launches as they set journey to race to the rescue on Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster.
Guests must be 48 inches tall to ride Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster. SeaWorld San Antonio is home to additional thrills as well from The Great White to Steel Eel and The Shamu Express. Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster will join this collection of thrills to deliver experiences for all guests.
